The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas to hold Red Carpet Event for teens seeking career orientation

Wichita, Kan. – The Red Carpet Event is the first of a five part training series sponsored by the Club Launch program for teens and young adults seeking basic job readiness, career counseling and employment.

Club Launch’s Red Carpet Event will take place Saturday, June 25 from 10am to 4pm at the Boys & Girls Club, 2400 N. Opportunity Drive. The event will offer teens and young adults between the ages of 14-24 the opportunity to enhance their knowledge about the workforce and attaining success. This event is FREE and lunch will be provided.

Topics to be covered during the event include: effective interview skills, customer service, how to dress for success, job safety and labor laws.

“We are here to lend support as each participant moves into the next phase of his/her life, whether it is completing high school, getting a GED, or preparing for college or technical school,” said Renee Sweeney, Director of Operations of the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Students who complete the training program will receive a Job Ready Certificate of Completion and will be offered the opportunity to interview with at least two local businesses.
