After School Program Info (Oaklawn Club)
2011-2012 After-School Program
The Boys & Girls Clubs after-school program, which begins Wednesday, August 17th and ends Wednesday, May 23rd, is filled with fun, exciting and educational activities that will keep the kids happy and safe after school.
Requirements The Boys & Girls Club is open to children ages 5 (on or before August 30th) to 18 years that are ambulatory and able to provide for their own personal needs in a 1:25 staff to child ratio setting. Participants not meeting the above requirements must complete and submit a special needs assessment form for review before admittance into the program. *A Parent & Member Handbook will be given for signature and support of Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas expectations.
Program Hours The after-school program hours are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The late fee is $1 per minute per child and begins at 6:00 p.m.
On-Site Activities Each month is filled with fun activities that coordinate with a character word. The character words are: responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, citizenship, caring and respect. Other activities include: science & technology, arts, physical education, homework help, sports, air hockey, foos ball, pool, table games, etc.
Program Fees The cost per 9 week grading period is $25 per child and equals $100 for the school year. The cost covers daily activities, homework help and dinner. It also covers the district-wide in-service days listed on the back. We will be open 8am – 5pm on those days and will provide breakfast, lunch and a snack.
The 1st child in the family is $25/9 weeks = $100/school year.
Each additional child in the immediate family is $15/9 weeks = $60/school year.
Payment The full 9 week payment is expected by the beginning of each 9 week period (August 16th, October 25th, January 10th and April 4th). There will be a 10 day grace period to pay before the child is not allowed to attend the Boys & Girls Club. The SRS Vision Card is accepted at all locations. Thanks to the generosity of Private Donors, we are able to provide a limited number of partial scholarships for children whose families can prove economic hardship. These scholarships are intended for families that are not receiving other forms of financial assistance for child care. There are no refunds.
Registration Registration begins NOW! The parent orientation date is Monday, August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. (one parent must attend the parent orientation meeting before your child can attend the after school program).
